Carving pumpkins with a howl!

By: Andrea Weber, Administrative Specialist II

On Saturday, October 28, several DNR staff volunteered at the W.O.L.F Sanctuary in Livermore. Joined by another volunteer group from CSU, staff got elbow deep in pumpkin guts and put their art skills to the test to provide enrichment for the wolves housed on the property.

This volunteer event allowed staff to get an inside look and fuzzy feel for the work of one of our important community non-profits. Staff was lucky enough to get to meet the wolves they were making enrichment for and hear the beautiful howls as the Front Range received its first snowfall of the season.

As part of the Culture team’s goals, this staff volunteer opportunity was provided for staff to come together outside of our every day work while giving back to our community. If you missed out on this opportunity, have no fear, we will host more in the future!
